This one is more subtle, and I can't figure out how to crop the part I want and highlight it, so I made the picture bigger. This is a hill overlooking the Forward Operating Base in Bermel, Paktika. The hill dominates the surrounding landscape. And if you squint, you will see an armored vehicle with a top-mount gun keeping watch over the valleys. It went there to protect the helicopters that were coming in a bit later. In person, it was a very cool silhouette. In photo, I prove once again I'm not a good photographer.
