Dutch Cemetery

Fort Cochin was the first place the Portuguese made landfall in India.  Vasco de Gama was buried here originally, the plaque says, before his remains were relocated.  There is an old church of St. Francis that dates from around 1510, though it's been rebuilt numerous times since then.  And there's the old Dutch Cemetery right on the coast, next to the place where they dock the fishing boats, sell the fresh fish in the morning and have three large Chinese fishing nets, though these do not appear to be in active use any more.
