Donkeys in Santorini

Apparently donkeys are used to carry cargo from the docks up the roughly 800-1000 meters through the cliffs to the town of Ia.  We saw a train of 5-6 traipse past us while we were having lunch, and then, whilst on our evening constitutional, three sets of burros passed us, including this group that stopped for a quite bite of grass.  (There was a mule driver, too, who coincidentally also stopped for a beer.) I'm saying "whilst" and "constitutional" because the only channel in English is BBC, and it's affecting my accent.  Already, for example, I have decided to mimic their anchor's ad-libbing during the announcement of Bin Laden's death, and henceforth I will refer to anything that seems important, but I have nothing on the teleprompter worth saying, as "a momentous moment."  I am also going to start using phrases like "instantaneous instants" and "murderous killings."  I anticipate being much more popular - or, as BBC would say, "popularly popular" - in the office after about fifteen minutes of this.
