Here we are approaching the outskirts of Kabul. You will definitely have to click to enlarge these photos to see the blimp. It's right in the center of each photo, much easier to see in the last photo. You also get an idea of the perpetual dust-smog that hangs over Kabul, although actually, yesterday was a very clear day. The smog is much, much higher than the mountains immediately near the city.
The blimp is an observation platform with cameras used to monitor the city for signs of security problems, movements of suspicious vehicles or materials, etc. You see them quite a bit in other cities as well.
